It’s a Sony movie and it’s based on one of the most popular PlayStation franchises of all time, but I suppose we should have known this new State of Play would be light when it started with a clip of Zach Cregger’s upcoming horror flick, Resident Evil.
In defence of the film, it looks absolutely awesome, and this particular scene was a compelling one, as protagonist Bryan played by Austin Abrams runs through a road of parked cars with dead bodies falling all around him.
I get the synergy with Sony Pictures here, but I think people tune in to State of Plays to see games.
At a time when PlayStation’s reputation on social media is at its lowest-ever ebb, probably not the best opening, guys.
