GIRLS’ FRONTLINE 2: EXILIUM, the latest entry in the long-running Girls’ Frontline series, is a free-to-play tactical strategy RPG that puts players in the role of the Commander, leading a squad called “Tactical Dolls” through turn-based battles while navigating a story set in a world transformed by years of conflict.
Now, the story takes another huge step forward with “Chiral Redundancy,” a new update that launched on August 27. Positioned as the best update yet for returning players, it introduces new Doll OTs-14, and the game’s first MOD Doll, Nemesis: Gnosis, while delivering over 80 pulls and 9,400+ Collapse Pieces, plus 80 additional pulls from Reunion Oath that guarantee at least one selected Elite Doll or Elite Weapon. The update also pushes the main storyline forward as the Commander’s resources, partnerships, and influence continue to grow, raising the stakes of future confrontations with rival factions. New systems, events, and outfits round out a patch designed to help both new and returning Commanders build their squads and catch up quickly.
The first half of the “Chiral Redundancy” update, which will run from August 27 to September 16, focuses on OTs-14—a familiar face to longtime Girls’ Frontline players whose arrival has major implications for the story.
OTs-14 is the first Doll to feature the new “Resonance” Attribute, giving her the ability to adapt to the attributes of the other Dolls in her squad. Depending on her team organization, she can provide different bonuses while serving as both a damage dealer and support unit.
Made to work across a variety of team organizations, OTs-14 can benefit from different Phase damage mechanics and adapt her role to the allies around her, making her a flexible addition to both new and established squads.
But OTs-14’s arrival is about more than just a new addition to the roster.
In the game’s story, the original frame of Groza—believed to have sacrificed herself to protect the Commander—did not truly perish. Instead, she was recovered and modified into a third-generation Doll known as Juno.
Meanwhile, the Groza who has accompanied the Commander throughout GIRLS’ FRONTLINE 2: EXILIUM was reconstructed from a backup frame.
