Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince: The Illustrated Edition was just officially released yesterday, but Target has already made it part of its October Prime Day sale. Although the book was already discounted for much of its preorder window, now it's included in Target's '3 for 2' sale.
All of the other Harry Potter illustrated books are also included in the sale, so you can potentially get the full collection at a discount. If you're just buying the latest in the series, however, this is still a great way to get a freebie thrown in.
If you've already been collecting the Harry Potter illustrated editions, you'll likely note that it's been a while since the last book came out. After Jim Kay stepped away from the role of illustrator, it took years to find someone to fill his shoes. Levi Pinfold was able to take over the project and bring a Haunting new style to the series in a way that fits The Half-Blood Prince perfectly.
Seeing as this edition was only just released, we don't yet know when the final book will be complete. As of right now, Pinfold is still planning on finishing out the series. You may have to wait another couple of years to finally complete your illustrated collection, but at last it seems like it will actually happen eventually.
Before we get book seven of this illustrated collection, however, we're likely to get book five of the interactive illustrated edition line. Last year saw the release of The Goblet of Fire version, which also had to be taken over by a new team after MinaLima left the project. Although no release date has been announced for that one yet, you can likely expect an October 2027.
Amazon has some pretty good book deals for its October Prime Day sale this year. The highlight is definitely the '3 for 2' sale, though, as it includes the Dungeon Crawler Carl Books, Brandon Sanderson novels, and many popular fantasy titles. There are also some pretty good deals on individual book sets too, including The Witcher Saga and popular manga.
