Control Resonant is available now, and Remedy Entertainment isn't waisting any time revealing its post-launch plans, starting off with two major updates that are right around the corner. Remedy's Connected Universe plans continue to move forward with the launch of Control Resonant, the next chapter of the franchise that began life back in 2019.
Despite being a direct sequel, Control Resonent does not follow in its predecessor's footsteps, making bold changes from what fans have come to expect. While still featuring unique abilities, Control Resonant is focusing on melee combat instead, while fully embracing its action RPG roots with deeper progression, player agency, and exploration in Remedy's version of a Hiss-infected Manhattan. While exploring thjese massive zones, players can find hidden collectibles, take on side missions, as well as other optional content. However, the launch of Control Resonant is just the beginning.
In a blog post to the community, Remedy Entertainment thanked everyone who has picked up the launch version of Control Resonant. The studio is monitoring feedback from players and, as part of that, are sharing the initial plans for what comes next. Once the main campaign of Control Resonant is complete, players can continue to explore the twisted version of Manhattan to mop up remaining side quests, side activities, and collectibles.

For those who want to go again, Remedy added a New Game Plus mode to Control Resonant, but it only allows players to experience the game one more time. However, Remedy is preparing an update in October to add what it calls New Game++ to allow players to continue playing as many times as they want without first needing to erase their previous campaign run.
Following that is another big feature update planned for November, bringing an official Photo Mode to the game. This highly requested feature is something that Remedy is teasing has been in development for a while, with the studio even confirming that it consulted talented community photographers to help make the feature even better. Outside of New Game++ and Photo Mode, Remedy has also confirmed that more cosmetic items for Dylan will be available in the future alongside the recently announced Control Resonant Twitch drops.
What isn't clear yet is if Control Resonant will actually receive bigger DLC down the road. The track record for previous Remedy games indicates that there is a very good chance, as most previous games like Alan Wake 2 released two post-launch expansions, Night Springs and The Lake House. However, curiously, Control Resonant didn't offer a special Expansion Pass like it did for previous games in a Deluxe Edition, leaving many to wonder if that could be a potential sign that it won't be supported with additional content.
The other elephant in the room is that some players don't actually have the game yet. Prior to launch, Remedy announced that the physical version of Control Resonant would be delayed by a month, so while the digital version arrived on September 24 as expected, physical edition fans will now have to wait until October 15. Considering all the current debate around physical media and Sony's decision to abandon it by 2028, the delay news was certainly disappointing to those looking forward to it.
