Gojo Satoru stood as the strongest sorcerer in the original Jujutsu Kaisen series and was the face of the entire franchise. At his disposal, Gojo had the powers of the Limitless Curse Technique as well as the trait known as the Six Eyes. With these two powers combined, Gojo Satoru became the strongest modern sorcerer in the series.
However, his powers are now being officially removed forever because of a major shift that the world of Jujutsu Kaisen underwent 68 years after the conclusion of the Shinjuku Showdown battle. This change was showcased extensively in the Volume 3 release of Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo, and its effects are being felt all over the world, especially as it reshapes the future of the Jujutsu Kaisen series completely.
The world of Jujutsu Kaisen has officially started changing forever with the removal of Cursed Energy, which was made possible with the collaboration of Yuji Itadori and Maru, one of the Rumelians. Together, the two combined in Jujutsu Kaisen: Modulo Chapter 22 on February 16, 2016, in Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump Issue 12, and they decided to actively remove all Cursed Energy from the next generation of sorcerers in Japan. The removal of Cursed Energy is something that many others have worked towards in their lives, such as Yuki Tsukumo and, to some degree, even Choso. However, it has only been brought to light now in Jujutsu Kaisen: Modulo, 68 years after the conclusion of the Sukuna Raid. Together with the powers of Maru, Yuji Itadori was able to remove Cursed Energy from future generations by using Idle Transfiguration, thanks to Mahito.
"I'm going to live for another 300 or so years. I will handle whatever follows. And if necessary, I'll bear the consequences of this great sin."
— Yuji removes Cursed Energy, Jujutsu Kaisen: Modulo Chapter #22
While Yuji considered this change a major sin, he still went ahead with removing Cursed Energy from the next generation of sorcerers. The current generation, who still have their Cursed Techniques, including the Rumelians, still hold on to the vast majority of their powers. But the next generation that will be born will not have access to any Cursed Energy and thus won't have access to any Cursed Techniques. This largely affects all the major sorcerers of the world, but the ones that are going to be most affected by this are the Big Three Clans, specifically the strongest of them all, the Gojo Clan.
It goes without saying that the Gojo clan stands at the helm of the Japanese sorcerer society at this point in time. The Kamo clan was destroyed slowly by Kenjaku, while the Zenin clan was wiped out by Maki during the Perfect Preparation arc before the beginning of the Culling Game. As such, the Gojo clan stands as the only powerful clan, and right now their influence is unmatched in the world of Jujutsu Kaisen.
Mifuyu: What you want is irrelevant. The Gojo Clan has already made its decision!
