Star Wars Jedi: Survivor released almost four years ago, and ever since developer Respawn Entertainment revealed that work had begun on a third game in the series, we've all been waiting for that inevitable reveal. There were rumors that the game would even release at some point this year, but with three months left and a GTA-sized elephant in the room, that feels very unlikely.
So, with that in mind, all Star Wars Jedi fans pin their hopes on 2027 instead, and according to one fairly reliable Star Wars insider, Respawn is indeed scheduling Star Wars Jedi 3 to launch at some point next year.
This is according to insider FivesWalker, who has quickly established themselves as a reliable insider within the Star Wars community. According to them, Star Wars Jedi 3 is indeed slated for a release next year, which probably won't come as a shock to many waiting for the game. Four to five years of development time for a straight sequel feels pretty standard at this point.
More interestingly, FivesWalker also adds that marketing for the actual game will start "sooner than you think", teasing that we may actually see the game before the big end of year showcases like The Game Awards. That would mean Respawn would simply announce the game on its own terms, as I don't think PlayStation or Xbox have any big events lined up for the rest of the year.
Personally, I can see Respawn putting out small teasers for the game in the lead up to The Game Awards, during which we'll get a full reveal, just like Larian did with its next game, Divinity. Only time will tell, but I would be very surprised if we don't see Cal Kestis emerge at some point later this year.
