Even if you’ve reached the Big Goodbye in Big Walk, the journey is not quite over. The game has a second ending hidden behind its toughest completion requirement, and reaching it takes more than simply finishing the main story.
There’s another secret ending that requires you to complete the normal ending first and then complete seven post-game purple puzzles. It’s more demanding, but if you’re someone who wants to experience the true ending and get the Big Game achievement, read on to learn how to unlock Big Walk’s secret ending.
Big Walk has two endings. The first is the normal ending, known as Big Goodbye, and happens after reaching the giant black sphere and completing the puzzles there.
The second is the secret or true ending. It is tied to the Big Game achievement and requires 100% completion. Unlike the first ending, this one requires going back through the world and finishing content that may have been skipped during the initial playthrough.
To unlock the secret ending, you’ll first need to progress through the main game by completing the colored towers and collecting enough puzzle rewards to unlock the Black Tower.
Inside the Black Tower, complete the required puzzles and get the Black Key. Take the key to the Wall and use it to open the way forward. Beyond the Wall is the giant black sphere. Reach it and complete the puzzles in this area to trigger the first ending and roll the credits.
This unlocks the Big Goodbye achievement and moves the game into its post-game phase. Once the credits finish, return to the map room and start checking for unfinished puzzles.
The map in the Map Room does a lot more than you'd expect. It tracks every puzzle, shows your progress, and even lets you know if you've completed a puzzle, but the gourd is still there. Here's the quick breakdown: A gourd with no flag means it's incomplete. If it's tilted, you've finished it, but the gourd might still be there or waiting for you in the lost and found at the start.
