In other words, the best Demon Slayer Mark designs are not only visually striking but also reflect the personalities and abilities of their wielders in the series.
To this day, many fans can’t forgive Koyoharu Gotouge for giving Tokito Muichiro such a messy-looking Demon Slayer Mark. Unlike the other Hashira, who manifested intricate and visually striking marks on their faces, Tokito’s mark appears more like a messy doodle or a random splash of paint on both of his cheeks.
As a result, Tokito’s gentle face almost looks like he has recently eaten, with his Demon Slayer Mark seemingly smudging his otherwise beautiful features. Such a Hashira hardly deserves such a messy-looking mark, even if its design is meant to reflect his Mist Breathing Style. As the only female Hashira to manifest a Demon Slayer Mark, Mitsuri was given a design featuring two mirrored hearts with wings. The mark has an unmistakably girly appearance, with its pink color standing out against Mitsuri’s left clavicle and adding an even more feminine touch to her already distinctive appearance.
Mitsuri’s Demon Slayer Mark also perfectly complements her Breathing Style, Love Breathing, with its heart-shaped design reflecting the affectionate and passionate nature of her fighting style, while the wings reflect its unpredictable and unconventional nature. Of course, despite its beautiful design, some fans dislike Mitsuri’s mark for looking more like a kiss mark than a powerful symbol of a Hashira.
