LEGO has officially announced that new Dragon Ball Z sets are on the way, teasing the theme of its first collab set. A crossover between the popular manga and LEGO has been rumored for months, but fans have now received confirmation that at least one set is in the works and could launch sooner than they expect.
LEGO has had some major collaboration set releases in 2026, ranging from the first official Pokemon crossover to Shrek and Project Hail Mary sets. As earlier leaks have suggested, though, the brick company is not slowing down anytime soon. Rumors about new Dragon Ball LEGO sets first emerged in June, with reports teasing a wave of sets planned for 2027. Now, LEGO has unveiled that Dragon Ball Z is finally getting its own brick line.
Through a brief video on its social media on September 22, LEGO and TOEI Animation have confirmed that Dragon Ball Z is making its LEGO debut. The teaser shows six Dragon Balls on a table, before a seventh joins them to complete the lineup. "Ready to make a wish?" reads the post's caption. Fans of Akira Toriyama's saga may know that gathering all seven Dragon Balls means that Shenron, Earth's Eternal Dragon, can be summoned. Shenron can then grant either one or three wishes. This implies that LEGO's first Dragon Ball set may be Shenron-themed and include all Dragon Balls.
As seen in the trailer, the new Dragon Ball set is aimed at adults rather than children, which would mean it will be complex and potentially lean on the pricier side. LEGO did not share an official release window, but the company often shares more details on new collaboration sets weeks after their first teaser. On the other hand, earlier leaks revealed that Shenron's LEGO set could launch in November 2026, which aligns with the official announcement's timing. The leak reported that the set would also feature a Goku minifigure and Nimbus Clouds.

It is worth noting that Planet Namek's Dragon Balls look very similar to their Earth counterparts, but it is unlikely that LEGO's first Dragon Ball set would reference Namek instead of Goku's home. However, according to an August report, nine Dragon Ball Z LEGO sets are expected for the crossover. Among them is a set featuring Porunga, Namek's Eternal Dragon, so fans can look forward to even more unique sets in the future. Leaks have also teased several sets referencing iconic battles from the anime scheduled for April 2027.
A November launch for Dragon Ball's first official LEGO set would make sense, since it would add to the hype of the upcoming Dragon Ball Super: Beerus anime release in October. Meanwhile, LEGO has plenty of exciting releases left for 2026, such as the PlayStation 1 console and the Sagrada Família. The company is already getting ready for next year as well, with seven new Mario sets and minifigures hitting the shelves on January 1.
