The Grand Theft Auto 6 leaker Cyberleek appears to be calling it quits after their crypto token crashed. However, there is still a possibility that the GTA 6 leaker may end up spoiling the game for everyone.
Cyberleek initially claimed that the leaks were being put onto the internet due to their frustrations with Take-Two Interactive, Rockstar, and even Sony. In particular, they expressed anger at digital pre-orders, GTA 6 having DLC-only content, and at the PS5 ending physical copies for new games. However, some have been suspicious of their alleged reasoning, as the leaker has also been encouraging fans to buy their cryptocurrency token, leading some to believe they're a scammer and/or don't actually have a copy of the game at all.
GTA 6 leaker Cyberleek made an official statement on October 14, indicating that the leaks were coming to an end. Following an initial leak in August, Cyberleek began pushing a crypto token, with more leaks promised if the cryptocurrency reached certain thresholds. The latest claim was that they would release a playable build onto the internet if the crypto token reached a value of $30 million, but the token subsequently crashed. Cyberleek claims that the crypto push wasn't a "rugpull" and that the cryptocurrency was always encouraged as a method of donating to the leaker, not as an actual investment. The crypto token, which peaked at $0.03 a piece, has since plummeted to $0.0015 as of publication time.
With the game just shy of a month from its release, Cyberleek claims that they won't spoil the ending for players, unless they're "removed," presumably referring to being arrested. In such a case, they claim to have a dead man's switch that will dump the story spoiler leaks onto the internet, so players may want to remain wary of spoilers until the game's official release. Even if the so-called dead man's switch is legitimate, it won't do much good once the game is officially out. However, efforts to ascertain who the leaker is and to bring them to justice will undoubtedly continue long past that point, providing that they're not caught prior to the game's launch.

Take-Two Interactive, Rockstar Games' parent company, has been actively investigating the leaker and filed subpoenas to secure information from Discord in an attempt to track them down. As it's part of an active investigation, not much has been shared regarding the search, but this isn't the first time that Take-Two has had to deal with GTA leakers. In 2022, another leaker released early build footage of GTA 6 onto the internet, and was subsequently found and arrested. They're currently awaiting their trial, which will begin just prior to the launch of GTA 6, on November 9.
After spending so much time in development, Grand Theft Auto fans are more than eager to get their hands on the long-awaited game. However, fans also seem to be tired of the leaks, with many commenting that they're glad that Cyberleek is allegedly stopping. Since the leaks started, Rockstar and Take-Two have become more forthcoming with looks at GTA 6, and many players likely don't want to face spoilers for what's arguably the most anticipated game of all time. In just over a month, players will be able to decide for themselves if the game lives up to the hype.
