If you want something visually similar to Geralt's default armor, then you're going to want to get the Viper School Gear in The Witcher 3. However, the Viper School Gear is separated into 6 distinct Diagrams (8, if you count the lootable swords) from the base game and Hearts of Stone, and some of these pieces are actually missable. Below, we'll share the Diagrams for each piece of armor, along with the unique swords you can find nowhere else!
The Viper School Gear has no Grandmaster variant like the other Witcher Schools Gear (Blood and Wine), but it does have a Legendary variant if you enter New Game Plus.
The Viper Silver Sword Diagram can be found in White Orchard's cemetery, specifically in the basement, as shown on the map above. Inside the basement is the Diagram and the Letter from Witcher Kolgrim of the Viper School, which you need to read to get the location of the Steel Sword Diagram. Be warned, there is a Wraith in this area!
The Viper Steel Sword Diagram is within an old watchtower in the Amavet Fortress Ruins, near the Ransacked Village in White Orchard. We've attached the map image above, so just head to this location and find the chest containing the Diagram. There's also the Interrogation Report to read, but that's just in case you didn't get the Silver Sword already!
The Viper Gear is purchased from Countess Mignole during the Hearts of Stone main quest "Open Sesame!" Vivaldi will invite you into the Borsodi Brothers' Auction House to interact with his friends, and it's important that you speak with Countess Mignole and ask to see her wares, where you'll be able to purchase individual Diagrams for the Viper Armor, Gauntlets, Trousers, and Boots. If you fail to do so, you'll never be able to find the Countess again.
The Viper Venomous Steel Sword Diagram can be found in "Open Sesame!", a main quest in Hearts of Stone. When you enter the vault with your heist crew, make sure you loot the chests near Maximillian Borsodi's House, as one of them will contain this Diagram. You can't return here after leaving!
The Viper Venomous Silver Sword doesn't have a Diagram, but it can be found in "Whatsoever a Man Soweth", the final main quest of Hearts of Stone. To get this sword, you must assist Olgierd by intervening with Gaunter O'Dimm, which will transport you into Gaunter's world.
Once you arrive in Gaunter's world, follow the path away from the temple and stick to the path on the right, where you will eventually cross a bridge past the Foglets. Take a left here and go under the next bridge, and you'll see a Hym to defeat. Behind the Hym is a set of stairs with a sword in a stone to take. You can't return here after leaving!
