Without a doubt, the Saiyans are the main characters of the entire Dragon Ball franchise. From the earliest days, Goku's journey from a young child to becoming Earth's mightiest protector has been shown with his Saiyan heritage as a focal point, as it has always allowed him and most of his allies to become some of the strongest beings in the multiverse.
Now, with Dragon Ball introducing Divine Techniques and the heroes being more powerful than ever, most fans believe that there is no match for the Universe 7 Saiyans. However, in this article, let's go over their strongest adversaries who exist throughout the multiverse and may eventually rise in power to become more than a match for them.
One of the oldest rivals that the Saiyan race ever faced were the Tuffles, who were the original inhabitants of Planet Plant before the Saiyans arrived there following the civil war that destroyed their original homeworld, Planet Sadala. Although things were good for a while, the Saiyans eventually revolted against the Tuffles and drove them to extinction, taking over their world and renaming it Planet Vegeta.
The Tuffles were largely a docile race, but their technology and knowledge allowed them to put up a decent fight before they were driven to extinction in Universe 7. Still, though, a race of Tuffles survives in Universe 2, and the most notable member of this race is the non-canon Baby, who truly pushed Goku and the others to the brink and forced the former to awaken his Super Saiyan 4 state. Because of this history, the Tuffles remain one of the Saiyan's biggest rivals.
One of the biggest and best reveals from Dragon Ball's multiverse came with Universe 6, which was a twin of the main one of the series. Because of this, it also had Saiyans, but they were far different from the mainline Saiyans due to them having a much calmer and docile nature, as well as the fact that they still lived on Planet Sadala.
Although this calmer nature meant that they weren't even close in strength to Goku, Vegeta and co., the potential and innate power they held was truly staggering, since they were able to break through the barrier of various Super Saiyan forms in just the Tournament of Power alone. Given time and sufficient training, they could be worthy rivals to the Universe 7 Saiyans.
In the Tournament of Power, Universe 7 proved their strength against many universes, but the greatest challenge that they faced were the Pride Troopers of Universe 11. Due to the immense cumulative power of this team and the synergy of their strength, they proved to be the team to beat in the tournament, giving many of the Z-Fighters their toughest fights.
Of course, the greatest threat amongst them was Jiren, whose resolve and control over his energy was something that Goku and Vegeta are still learning from, which is how he was able to match Ultra Instinct Goku. However, he wasn't the only one, as Toppo unlocked the power of a Destroyer and Dyspo's speed and skill definitely made him more than a match for Gohan.
