The launch of EA Sports FC 27 is just around the corner, so let's take a look at everything new coming to the ever-popular FUT mode, as well as the features that we know will return.
While FC 27 is expected to be one of EA's tentpole titles for the year, as it is every year, there feels like a much greater weight of expectation on FC 27 because of player dissatisfaction that has been building for almost a decade.

In response, EA has overhauled its most popular game mode, so let's see just how big the changes are and what is staying the same.
In this section, I'm going to run through what I feel are the biggest changes coming to FUT in FC 27. These are changes, tweaks, additions, or removals that categorically change the game or how we interact with the game mode.
The thought of changing SBCs at all is a little scary, as they've been a core part of the gameplay cycle for a very long time, but the proposed changes seem positive on paper. Streamlined SBCs are based on a point-scoring system rather than trying to meet criteria such as a minimum team overall or chemistry number, as well as other awkward objectives such as nationality or league-based challenges. Instead, an SBC will have a score assigned to it that you must meet, and you simply select players from your Club or Duplicates to achieve the target score. Each card will have a value assigned to it, and this value is increased with the quality and rarity of the card.
What this ultimately means is that all SBCs become about the level of sacrifice you're willing to make to complete it. You may be faced with an SBC that demands a score of 300, and you could either put up 30 bronze cards worth 10 points, 15 silver cards worth 20 points, or 10 gold cards worth 30 points. These new SBCs will still have some restrictions; the one shown off in the FUT deep dive says that cards must be rated between 65 and 75, but that is the only restriction in place.
While EA released a huge document with all the exciting new changes coming to FUT, the one that stands out to me most is the improved rewards for each match played. You will now receive more coins and season points after every match, meaning the process of grinding to upgrade your team is being addressed head-on.
