Marvel's Wolverine launches exclusively on PS5 today, 15th September 2026, and it's already been through its fair share of online drama.
Following the arrival of reviews from critics, much has been said about the superhero action adventure on social media, and it seems developer Insomniac Games is already working to remedy some of the feedback.
Community and marketing director James Stevenson has taken to X to inform fans that updates are inbound:
"We have been 100% listening over the last few days and the team has been cooking hard today in response to some of the feedback - in case you were wondering what that smell out of our kitchen was," Stevenson says with a wink.
The way this is phrased almost certainly refers to one of the most common complaints about Marvel's Wolverine — the scent trails that pop up throughout the adventure.
These trails are visible representations of Wolverine's heightened sense of smell; players follow the trail as though the character is tracking a particular scent.
Many have pointed out their distaste for the mechanic, however, saying it occurs too frequently and holds the hand of the player too tightly.
It sounds like this is something Insomniac is looking to address; I expect the game will get a boatload of post-launch updates regardless, but this seems like a point of focus for the team.
