New Multi-Region Pokemon Release Officially Confirmed for 30th Anniversary

Pokemon and its many fans have been celebrating its anniversary all year, and the latest 30th anniversary celebration confirms a future multi-region release. This new multi-region Pokemon release lets fans celebrate every generation of creatures, no matter which is someone's favorite. For older fans, that could be the early Kanto or Johto Pokemon; for others, it could be Sinnoh, Unova, or any of the newer gens.

Pokemon has been celebrating its anniversary all year, truly beginning with the release of Pokemon FireRed and LeafGreen on Switch earlier this year. Rumors suggest the celebrations will continue with Pokemon Ruby, Sapphire, and Emerald coming to Switch soon, while plenty of merch has been announced, released, and is still yet to come.

Now, historic toy and collectible company Takara Tomy has revealed a special multi-region Pokemon set focused on bringing all 9 generations of Pokemon to the fan, while fans wait for Game Freak to let them explore all regions in the rumored multi-region Pokemon MMO game. The new products are part of Takara Tomy's Pokemon 30th Anniversary Moncolle collection, with an Evolution Set and several Legendary Sets scheduled to launch on October 24. The Kanto Evolution Set includes Venusaur, Charizard, and Blastoise for 2,145 yen (about $14.50), while each Legendary Set costs 3,520 yen (about $24). The prices include Japanese tax.

There are eight Legendary Sets in total, covering every region from Johto through Paldea. Johto pairs Lugia with Ho-Oh, Hoenn has Kyogre and Groudon, Sinnoh includes Dialga and Palkia, and Unova features Reshiram and Zekrom. The collection then continues with Kalos' Xerneas and Yveltal, Alola's Solgaleo and Lunala, Galar's Zacian and Zamazenta, and Paldea's Koraidon and Miraidon.

These are part of Takara Tomy's Moncolle figure line which, for those unaware, focuses on small figures designed to accurately recreate the appearance of Pokemon. The anniversary Legendary Sets are bigger than the standard figures, with the included Pokemon ranging from around 7 cm to 14 cm depending on the character. The Kalos and Alola sets also include stands, while the products feature special Pokemon 30th Anniversary packaging designed to make the sets suitable for display.

The new releases are also part of a much larger 30th anniversary push from Takara Tomy. Earlier this year, the company released nine Moncolle First Partner Pokemon Sets, with one set representing each region from Kanto through Paldea and containing that region's three starter Pokemon. With the October releases adding some of the most recognizable Legendary Pokemon to the collection, Takara Tomy is giving collectors another way to celebrate just how far Pokemon has come over the last 30 years.
