While every major franchise under the sun has its own Funko Pops, there still aren’t many that have been deemed worthy enough to warrant their own Squishmallows. Dragon Ball Z is one of the few to have pulled it off, and clearly the original two designs sold well, as the still-young collection is about to get two more.
Squishmallows revealed via its official Instagram account that two more Dragon Ball designs are coming, and those designs will turn the Super Saiyan versions of Goku and Vegeta into their iconic soft round plushes.
The post claims the new Super Saiyan designs are available now at GameStop, although whoever hit “post” may have jumped the gun, as right now, only the two original Dragon Ball Squishmallows are listed on the GameStop site. Perhaps the Super Saiyan plushes are only available in-store for now. Worth popping in should you happen to be passing a GameStop anytime soon.
Those original, and until now, only. Dragon Ball Squishmallows are regular Goku and Vegeta. While many fans of the anime might have been expecting the next Squishmallows to immortalize different characters from the show in plush form, it makes sense that Jazwares tries to make the most out of the two most recognizable characters before it moves on.
It’s a similar play to there already being three Pikachu Squishmallows even though there are still fewer than 30 designs in the Pokemon collection.
The biggest differences between Goku and Vegeta’s original Squishmallows and these are, of course, the features that change when they go Super Saiyan. Shocking blonde hair instead of black, and bright blue eyes. However, their outfits seem to have been given some subtle upgrades too.
Goku has dropped the badge from his gi, and the blue and orange appear to be brighter than they are on his non-Super Saiyan plush. Meanwhile, Vegeta’s Squishmallow outfit just looks a lot cleaner than his original design. The flaps on the shoulders have gone, as has the belt around the middle.
Even though the Super Saiyan Squishmallows haven’t popped up at GameStop yet, if they follow in the first Dragon Ball designs’ footsteps, we’ll know how big they are and how much they cost. Barring any price hikes or upgrades, the Squishmallows will be eight inches tall and cost $14.99 each. Hopefully the plushes will help bridge the gap between now and the arrival of Dragon Ball’s first Lego sets. A Shenron set will be released before the end of 2026, marking the first time anything from the anime has ever officially been turned into Lego.
