That kid, as it turns out, is Matan Even, an American internet personality with a track record that goes much further back than his Elden Ring stage crash. He first rose to prominence at just 12 years old when speaking out in support of the Hong Kong protests, even appearing at BlizzCon in 2019 to yell “free Hong Kong!” after a player was suspended for their pro-democracy protest.
His newfound notoriety after TGA eventually propelled him into streaming. He now hosts The Matan Show, where he continues his fake accent and right-wing caricature. He was even invited to appear as the emcee for the 113th New York Young Republican Club Gala, where he played the SpongeBob SquarePants theme song and mocked the booing audience.
Matan's persona is deliberately satirical, but his content has also drawn criticism from people who argue that the character crosses the line between shock humor and genuine bigotry.
And now, in what feels like an oddly full circle moment, the kid who shot to fame for yelling “rabbi Bill Clinton” is now interviewing former president Joe Biden’s son.
“Tomorrow’s episode with Hunter Biden,” he announced on X, sharing a photo of the two holding a fake Destiny 3 box.
Hunter Biden is hardly an obscure figure. As the son of Joe Biden, he became a frequent target of Republican politicians and right-wing media during his father's presidency, with everything from his drug use and drinking problems to his foreign business dealings becoming fodder for political attacks and tabloid headlines.
The controversy surrounding Hunter came to a crescendo when Joe Biden issued him a presidential pardon in December 2024 on the way out of the White House. Hunter, however, has embraced the chaos and leaned into his reputation, occasionally joking about his history with drugs online. When one commenter asked how much cocaine he had snorted before making a post, Hunter replied: “Man if you're going to be mean, at least get it right. I smoked crack. I would never have wasted coke on snorting it.”
