One of the best things about Marvel’s Wolverine is the wide variety of costumes and outfits from comics and movies that Insomniac Games has included, from comic deep cuts to iconic Logan looks.
Just like in Spider-Man, unlocking these outfits requires a bit of work from the player, as Logan will need to find Material Crates to be able to craft them. Here's everything you need to know.
Material Crates are the most common collectible in Wolverine, as nearly every level in the game has more than a few of them to find. Unlocking the crates will reward Logan with 50 materials that he can use to purchase (or rather, craft) outfits and their respective claws. It’s basically Wolverine’s version of Spider-Man’s tokens, albeit on a more linear scale.
Luckily, finding Material Crates in Wolverine is made pretty easy thanks to Logan’s enhanced senses. Logan will tune in to the crate’s specific clicking noises and make them much easier to hunt down by marking them with a blue outline and occasionally commenting on one being around. Here’s where to find every single one in Marvel’s Wolverine.
Material Crates are introduced early on in Wolverine’s story during Homecoming, so the first two are completely unmissable.
The first optional Material Crate in the whole game can be found as you enter the sawdust mill while following Jean’s trail. Right where you encounter some enemies, turn to the left and break the wooden crates to find the first Material Crate.
The next Material Crate of this level can be found a little further on in the level in Leech’s Lair. Once you’re in the young mutant’s home base, look for a recorder. Turn right around once you find it to easily spot the Material Crate.
The One Who Got Away’s third Material Crate can be found directly after the level’s only Nightmare Door, which is impossible to miss. Go right and up the river from the door’s location to find the crate sitting next to a painting.
