There are plenty of dungeons in Fire Emblem: Fortune's Weave, and they all have barrels and crates in them that, when broken, drop items that can be collected. There are all manner of items that can be found in these crates, but it's not immediately clear what they're used for. In this guide, I'll explain what items found in crates are used for in Fire Emblem: Fortune's Weave, so you know how to make the most of everything that you find.
For the most part, the items you find in crates and barrels will be edible items that can be combined together. Specifically, they can be used at a rest spot in a dungeon, with each ingredient restoring a set amount of HP. The more ingredients you add to the left-hand list at a rest spot, the more HP you'll be able to restore for every member of your party.
This makes smashing barrels and crates in dungeons worth spending your time doing, as the constant battles in dungeons can eventually wear down your party's HP (even if you use the Auto Battle or Skip to Conclusion options).
I did find that every once in a while I found a smithing stone in a barrel or crate. These appear to be an uncommon drop from these crates. Smithing stones can be used at a Blacksmith to repair your weapons, essentially restoring their durability that will have decreased over time from having used a character's Combat Arts with them.
Once a weapon reaches 0 durability, you'll no longer be able to use its Combat Art. These can be incredibly helpful for taking down enemy units when a standard attack simply won't cut it, or you need a bit of extra range from one of your archers' attacks. It's worth noting, however, that you'll only be able to unlock the Blacksmith and the ability to upgrade and repair weapons once you reach Chapter 6.
The Blacksmith can be found in the Shopping Arcade next to the armorer, who you're introduced to early on in Chapter 3. Repairing weapons also costs gold, with the amount increasing with the weapon's rarity. The better the weapon, the more expensive it'll cost to repair.
