After a stellar second anime season in 2025, Solo Leveling fans were disappointed to learn that the series would skip 2026 entirely to release more content later down the line. The newest Solo Leveling project, titled “Solo Leveling: Beyond the System, is currently set to be released between 2027 and 2028.
Despite the anime delay, Solo Leveling fans were still excited for 2026, as Netmarble Studios was set to release Solo Leveling: Karma, the biggest and most ambitious Solo Leveling video game of all time that is also stated to have canonical story elements. Since 2025, Solo Leveling: Karma has been teased with a 2026 release date. However, a recent Q&A with Netmarble on the game reveals shocking new information. While Solo Leveling: Karma is indeed releasing in 2026 for Japanese and Korean fans, the international fanbase may have to wait as the game could be delayed to 2027. This is massively disappointing for thousands of fans who had long awaited the release of Karma.
The last big project for the Solo Leveling series was its second anime season by Aniplex and A1 Pictures, which was released in January 2025 and ran until May 2025. The highlight of the season included the Jeju Island arc, which featured the battle between Jinwoo and the Ant King, leaving a strong impression on fans. Solo Leveling Season 2 led to the popularity of the series growing dramatically, so much so that ever since then, fans have been desperately waiting for the next big project to be released. Luckily for fans, on July 6, 2025, at Anime Expo, Solo Leveling: Karma by Netmarble Studios was officially announced. Solo Leveling already has two games in Solo Leveling: Arise and Solo Leveling: Arise Overdrive, but Karma is set up to be on a whole new level. Not only do we expect more exciting gameplay, but the story itself is what has kept everyone on the edge of their seats, with the promise to expand the lore of this world and bring forward the truth about the 27-Year Monarch War skipped in the web novel and the manhwa.
Since 2025, Netmarble Studios has teased Solo Leveling: Karma for a 2026 release. Following this initial announcement, however, quite a long time has passed, and we still don't know when exactly Solo Leveling: Karma is coming. It's almost a guarantee that it will indeed be released in 2026, as sign-ups in Japan and South Korea have already opened up. However, to be precise, new comments from the studio imply that the 2026 release is expected to be exclusively for fans who are planning to play from South Korea or Japan. Based on what Netmarble has revealed, international servers aren’t ready yet. Localisation, which could include translations into languages other than Japanese and Korean, is also not yet done.
"Q3. What is the current target release schedule, and will there be any differences between the domestic and global versions?
Business Division Head Lee Jong-hyuk = First, we plan to showcase the game to players in Korea and Japan. The specific schedule for the official release is under final adjustment, and we will announce it as soon as it is confirmed. However, because Korea and Japan are important, major markets, we are preparing thoroughly and plan to expand to global service afterward.
While there will be a time gap between releases, we aim to provide the same fun to players in all regions without differences in systems or content between the domestic and global versions. Thorough multilingual localization and establishing a stable server environment are our top priorities, and detailed service schedules will be announced later."
On September 30, 2026, Netmarble Studios, the South Korean company behind Solo Leveling: Karma, released a new 39-question-long Q&A going over topics that fans might want elaboration upon. In this Q&A, one question has especially stood out.
