On September 13, 2026, One Piece officially marked the release of chapter 1193 in Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump Double Issue #42-43. This chapter was incredibly important for the vast majority of the fighters in Elbaf, including the Accursed Prince Loki. As the battle against Nerona Imu raged on in the underworld of Elbaf, Luffy and Loki were seen going all out. Just as Monkey D. Luffy ran out of gas, Loki decided to take things one step further and tap into what is his strongest transformation.
For the very first time since One Piece chapter 1170, Loki has now tapped into his Hybrid Ryu Ryu no Mi Model: Nidhoggr form. This new form is set to boost his power dramatically as he takes on the King of the World, Nerona Imu, in a life-or-death battle.
Loki was revealed to be a monstrous calamity in battle right from his very introduction at the beginning of Elbaf. In fact, it was quite clearly stated that Loki held enough power to destroy the entire world, and the only person in the entire world capable of stopping him when he was rampaging across the seas was Red-Haired Shanks. This raised the expectations among the fans quite a lot when it comes to Loki's overall firepower, and Eiichiro Oda certainly did not disappoint when he fully unveiled his Devil Fruit ability, Ryu Ryu no Mi, Model: Nidhoggr, in One Piece chapter 1175, officially released on March 2, 2026, in Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump Issue 14.
"The Mythical Zoan Ryu Ryu no Mi...it is said that whoever eats it can transform into the largest dragon in the whole world. The size of the creature is relative to the initial size of whoever ate the fruit. They say this dragon breathes lightning, and when it flies, its jet-black wings turn day into night." — Jarul explains Ryu Ryu no Mi, Model: Nidhhoggr, One Piece Chapter #1175
Loki's black dragon form was incredibly overpowered and quite clearly strong enough to defeat just about every threat that Elbaf was facing on his own. However, things changed when Nerona Imu, the King of the World, decided to descend upon Elbaf in One Piece chapter 1179 on April 5, 2026. Loki immediately went to take Imu on in battle, and their clash has since continued. Even though the God of War of Elbaf has been put down on a couple of occasions, he keeps showing his resilience and getting back up. In One Piece chapter 1193, which was officially released on September 13, 2026, in Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump Double Issue #42-43, Loki has finally revealed his trump card, which we have all been eagerly waiting for. For the very first time, he has now tapped into his hybrid Mythical Zoan Ryu Ryu no Mi, Model: Nidhoggr form. This form will see his powers being taken to a whole new level as he takes on Nerona Imu in combat.
“Dogahaha! Looks like you're at your limit!! I'll be the one to finish him off! You just rest there!" — Loki taps into his Hybrid Nidhoggr form, One Piece Chapter #1193
Mythical Zoan hybrid forms are generally the strongest forms that any Mythical Zoan Devil Fruit user has. To put it simply, hybrid forms offer the same powers as Zoan full beast forms, but in a more compact, smaller body. This allows the user to keep their nimbleness and agility, and maintain their speed, without sacrificing any powers offered by their Zoan forms. Loki's Ryu Ryu no Mi, Model: Nidhoggr was incredibly overpowered, but it certainly suffered from quite a few drawbacks. In Loki's own words, the biggest drawback of this ability was its sheer size. The stamina it took to maintain this massive form was too much. Due to his enormous size, he found it incredibly difficult not only to dodge a lot of attacks but also to maneuver while fighting someone as small as Imu and land his own hits.
“I still feel his presence. But I'm too big to keep track of him properly!” — Loki explains his full Zoan form’s drawbacks, One Piece Chapter #1182
