Sometimes, a studio will release a relatively unknown game only to later on become a true smash hit. These 10 little-known Xbox 360 RPGs all come from famous developers.
Certain Affinity is extremely well known as a support studio working closely on Halo and Call of Duty games. It's worked on Halo 2, 3, Halo: Reach, and various Call of Duty entries. It has a pretty solid identity as a support studio, but it has also produced its own games.
One of those was Crimson Alliance, a fantasy action RPG released for the Xbox Live Arcade. It was a freemium game and received only average reviews, although some praised the combat. I've played Certain Affinity content before, but never one of their original games... and if I'm honest, Crimson Alliance isn't going to make me try. I can see why it's little-known.
Piranha Bytes was a very well-known developer famous for its Gothic and Risen franchises. In more recent years, it was responsible for ELEX and ELEX II. I actually really enjoyed ELEX — in my opinion, it's well worth a go if you're looking for a smaller experience away from the genre's giant franchises. Piranha Bytes is now defunct, but its back catalog is pretty impressive, and many of its older games still enjoy cult status.
Although the Risen franchise is a respected part of Piranha Bytes's history, Risen 3: Titan Lords goes largely overlooked. It received decent PC reviews, but its PS3 and Xbox 360 releases were pretty shocking. On the Xbox 360, Risen 3 hit the lofty heights of 44 on Metacritic, while the PS3 managed 36. Arguably, time has been quite kind to Risen 3 by allowing it to fade into obscurity.
The Dungeon Fighter franchise is huge, and its developer, Nexon, has a massive online game presence. The first MMO I ever played was MapleStory, way back in the early 2000s, and it was a Nexon game.

Dungeon Fighter LIVE: Fall of Hendon Myre is a pretty obscure entry in the franchise; it's a combination action RPG and 2D side-scrolling beat 'em up with 3 character classes, released as an Xbox Live Arcade game. Released in 2012, it was delisted and removed in 2015.
