Cursed techniques form the basis of the Jujutsu Kaisen universe, and that was true in the original series by Gege Akutami that began on March 5, 2018, in Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump Issue #14. It is just as true right now, in the Modulo era of the story. In the original story, Gojo Satoru's Limitless, alongside some other techniques like Shrine and Comedian, stood at the top as some of the most powerful Cursed Techniques. In the Modulo era, set 68 years after the Sukuna battle, a new strongest cursed technique has emerged, and it is none other than Dabura Karaba's Light and Murderous Intent.
Dabura Karaba is a member of the Deskunte tribe from the Simurian race, hailing from the planet of Simuria. He was introduced to us officially in Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo Chapter 1, which was officially released on September 8, 2025, in Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump Issue #41. In the very first chapter, it was stated that Dabura was a threat on the same level as the King of Curses, Ryomen Sukuna, and this was without him even showing a glimpse of his powers. As Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo continued, Dabura's powers were brought to the surface as well, especially in his battle against the Divine General Mahoraga, which officially began in Modulo Chapter 15, released officially on December 15, 2025, in Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump Issue #3.

In this fight, the author of the series, Gege Akutami, revealed Dabura's powerful Cursed Techniques to us. Dabura has two cursed techniques, one of which is Murderous Intent, which is something that humans cannot truly understand. It is passed down through the Deskunte tribe and is basically killing intent given a physical manifestation. His second technique is Light, which allows him to create light and attack his enemies with it.
Immediately at the beginning of the battle against Mahoraga, Dabura used his Light and Murderous Intent to skewer the Divine General from top to bottom. Against any other enemy, this would have been enough to take them down, but given Mahoraga's ability to adapt to any and all phenomena in existence, it was able to survive this attack. As the battle continued, Gege Akutami showed us exactly why Dabura's Light is the strongest cursed technique seen in the entire franchise, at least in terms of power and destructive capabilities. In the battle against Mahoraga, Dabura was, for the very first time, tested to his limits. When his light-based attacks, strong enough to wipe out entire cities, were not able to take down Mahoraga, Dabura then resorted to pushing himself for the very first time and applying the Cursed Technique Light to his own body. This allowed him to move at sublight speeds, which, in other words, means that he could potentially even change how his body ages in respect to those on Earth. Dabura could technically live for thousands and millions of years and experience a completely different life form on planet Earth; such is his technique.

At the same time, in terms of offensive output, Dabura's ability to move at sublight speeds as well as throw attacks at sublight speeds meant that he can essentially destroy the entire planet. The only reason the fight against Mahoraga didn't destroy the planet is due to Mahoraga’s ability to adapt to any and all phenomena. Dabura's destructive capability is far greater than any other technique seen in the entirety of Jujutsu Kaisen.
