Not to mention that its distinctive vampiric edge alone could prove irresistible.
The Blood of Dawnwalker is the kind of narrative-first RPG we don’t get too often these days, with handcrafted, branching quests at the heart of the experience. Its dark, immersive world blends medieval Europe with supernatural fantasy elements in a distinctly Witcher-like way, while still giving you enough freedom to explore, shape Coen as you see fit, and lean into whichever story or character arc attracts you most.
While Dawnwalker can’t quite compare to The Witcher 3 in scope, it more than compensates with its original setting and strong emphasis on replayability. It’s one of the strongest studio debuts in recent memory and a very intriguing introduction to a new RPG saga.
Naturally, no other game is as literal a Witcher replacement as Cyberpunk 2077, CDPR’s latest major take on the open-world RPG formula. The echo of its broken 2020 launch is almost completely forgotten now, as years of dedication have firmly established Cyberpunk 2077 as a definitive genre milestone and one of the most-played RPGs of the past five years. Jumping into cyberpunk after working with fantasy, a much more natural fit for the genre, was a major challenge, yet the developers pulled it off spectacularly.
