A brand-new Pokemon release is now officially confirmed for September 2026, and it's themed around Powerhouse Pokemon. Pokemon's 30th anniversary has been a massive celebration all year long, and while fans are looking forward to the next chapter in the series, Pokemon Winds and Waves, existing games are still getting great releases and support.
For example, a 30th anniversary multi-region Pokemon release is now coming in December, dedicated to the history of the series. Just this week, the 30th Celebration set came out for Pokemon TCG, and despite scalpers still being an issue, many fans are happy with the pull rates and increased supply. Recently, Pokemon Champions started Regulation M-C, adding new Mega Evolutions from Pokemon Legends: Z-A and new items. It's clear that celebrations are not stopping any time soon, and fans can now expect a new Powerhouse Pokemon release in September 2026, but they will have a limited time to get it.
Pokemon Scarlet and Violet are getting new 7-Star Tera Raid events in September 2026 and up until early December, with each of the 10 Powerhouse Pokemon rotating weekly, starting with Dragonite on September 25. The events will be free for all players and only require completion of the main story and access to 7-Star Raids. The Pokemon will all have the Mightiest Mark when caught and can only be caught once per account, but their Raid rewards are farmable. The Mightiest Mark makes them very rare and desirable, as event 7-Star Raids are the only way to get the Mark on specific Pokemon. This event will most likely not be repeated in the future. The list of available Pokemon is as follows:
It's worth noting that Hisuian Goodra is also a Powerhouse Pokemon, but it's not included in this event.
Pokemon Scarlet and Violet's Summer 2026 events also came as a surprise, bringing more unique Pokemon to the games before they eventually start winding support down as Gen 10 inches closer to release. Considering that Pokemon Winds and Waves will launch in late 2027, according to leaks, Gen 9 might still get more events in 2027, but fans shouldn't expect to see old events make a comeback. For example, the new Powerhouse event and the Tera Raids dedicated to the starter Pokemon in the series are unlikely to return, and fans should get these rare Mightiest Mark Pokemon now that they can. Since each Powerhouse Pokemon will only be available for a week, fans have limited time to get them.
There will be even more Pokemon events and releases for the remainder of the year, and rumors point to Gen 3 games coming back as Switch and Switch 2 ports next month. Then, Pokemon: Night Out has official dates now, and Pokemon Unite is getting more unique Pokemon even past its anniversary.
