Cities Skylines 2 developers Iceflake Studios have announced a second expansion pass for the game, with the new Park Adventures expansion set to bring a whole new level of depth to gameplay.
The second expansion pass for Cities Skylines 2 has just dropped, granting access to seven separate pieces of content releasing between now and summer of 2027. The pass is available for $44.99, with an instant unlock of a placeable 'downtown market' building today, plus access to two major expansions, three creator packs, and a new in-game radio station later down the line. That'll work out about 24% cheaper than buying all seven pieces of content separately.
Arguably, the most interesting part of the pass is the Park Adventures expansion, which is set for release later this year. The original Cities Skylines received a similar DLC, but parks in the vanilla version of Cities Skylines 2 have so far been largely limited to static assets, with little in the way of customisation or deep NPC interaction.
That's all about to change though, with this DLC letting you create your own amusement parks, zoos, nature reserves, and city parks. You'll be able to build each type on its own, or draw out an area and combine all four. Progression mechanics will let parks level up to unlock new assets, while you're also be able to specify ticket pricing, staff wages, and maintenance budgets. Of course, unlike a dedicated theme park or zoo game where poor money management typically means game over, you could get away with splashing out on your park here in exchange for a top-quality attraction - so long as the rest of your city's bank account is able to take the financial hit.
Iceflake Studios has also confirmed a second expansion, City Vacations, arriving later down the line between April and June 2027. This DLC will let you place new tourist attractions across your city, and it won't just be cosmetic. You'll need to manage tourist flows, and therefore traffic and transport, to ensure tourists can reach these destinations, and demand will fluctuate accordingly across the in-game seasons.
