A brand-new browser game is going viral where you play tic-tac-toe against AI, and it’s actually pretty impossible to beat.
For a certain generation, flash browser games were all the rage. You’d spend time in school and after school wasting time on iconic titles like Happy Wheels, Bloons Tower Defence, and Learn to Fly. With the death of Flash, a lot of these games have been consigned to history, while others have pivoted to mobile.
There has been a rise in new browser games thanks to some creative developers, as well as help from AI. Like their predecessors, they will help you kill some time.
That includes a new twist on the classic game of tic-tac-toe, with one dev pitting you against an unbeatable AI.
That’s right, ShawMakesMagic took to X (formerly Twitter) to show off their take on the timeless game – which they’ve aptly named Tic Tac Cheat. “I made a tic-tac-toe game where the AI wins every time,” the dev said.
If you play it, you’ll quickly understand what he means. As soon as you make a move, the AI will respond, and it doesn’t take long for it to cheat. They’ll ignore you when you’ve selected a spot, will overwrite any X you’ve put down, and will happily gloat about it too.
On top of that, they will provide a report about your moves just under the board as well, so they can really rub it in.
