Developer CD Projekt Red has slightly increased the price of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt one month before the game's anticipated remaster launches on all current-gen platforms. As one of the most acclaimed open-world games of all time, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt contains hundreds of hours of content for players to consume.
Following its 2015 launch, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt went on to claim several Game of the Year honors across various media outlets. CD Projekt Red did not rest on its laurels for long, as The Witcher 3 later released two paid expansions, Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine, between 2015 and 2016. Despite being on the market for over 11 years, The Witcher 3 remains one of the best games still worth playing in 2026.
After surprising fans by revealing The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Remastered at Gamescom Opening Night Live, players who have not yet dived into the game will have to pay a slightly higher price now. CD Projekt Red has increased the price of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt from $39.99 to $49.99 on all platforms as of this writing. Though the $10 price hike was not publicly announced by The Witcher 3's development team, it did not go unnoticed by players. The move was made one month ahead of the launch of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Remastered, which will be available on Tuesday, September 29, as a free update for all players who have purchased The Witcher 3 at any point. The remaster will include graphical updates, reworks of the game's menu and skill tree, and some gameplay balance changes.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt now includes access to Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine at no additional cost to consumers. When The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt first launched in May 2015, the game's MSRP was $59.99 and only included the base game. The expansion pass for The Witcher 3, which included access to both Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine, was an extra $25. Given the amount of content now available in CD Projekt Red's hit title, the current $49.99 price for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is far cheaper than the original costs of the base game and expansions combined.

The price increase arrived amid a busy time for CD Projekt Red. Along with the continued development of The Witcher 4, the studio will also launch a new expansion for The Witcher 3, titled Songs of the Past. Said to be the last hunt for Geralt of Rivia, The Witcher 3: Songs of the Past will also include new romance interests for players to pursue. It remains to be seen what other surprises await Geralt in the Letten region.
