Cyberpunk 2077's Third-Person Mod Makes It Feel Like An Entirely New Game

Cyberpunk 2077's Third-Person Mod Makes It Feel Like An Entirely New Game

Cyberpunk 2077 has been getting plenty of love in recent years, both thanks to the hard work of its developers in continuing to support the game after its infamous launch and to spinoffs like Cyberpunk Edgerunners, which introduced a whole new generation of players to its dystopian sci-fi world.

Although Cyberpunk 2077 has been used as inspiration for CD Projekt Red's upcoming Witcher 3 remaster overhaul, one dedicated fan has done the opposite. Taking one of the most unique aspects of The Witcher 3 that fans have wanted to see in Cyberpunk 2077 for over half a decade, this recently released mod completely changes how it feels to play.

As showcased in the footage captured by NieamArt on X, Cyberpunk 2077 recently got an incredibly in-depth third-person perspective mod by NexusMods user CybrDrake, allowing you to explore Night City from an entirely new perspective.

Although this isn't the first third-person mod released for Cyberpunk 2077, the creation has already been praised as one of the best players have seen yet, offering a far more seamless experience than what players have previously had access to.

Having incorporated all-new animations for walking, sprinting, and traversing over objects, the Immersive Third-Person mod really does play like a new game for the most part, whilst letting you swap back and forth at any time while playing.

The only downsides to the mod are that it's still a work-in-progress, meaning you can't perform every action like gunfighting in third-person, on top of the fact that several of the brand-new animations are exclusive to female V. Thankfully, the creator is promising to focus on improving the male ones in future updates alongside other animation improvements.

Given that the previous promising perspective-changing mode with the cancelled Cyberpunk VR mod won't ever come to fruition, the third-person view seems like a great way to spice up your next playthrough while waiting for the release of either Cyberpunk 2077's sequel.

Even if the mod isn't enough to make you interested in jumping back into Night City, players also have the recently rumored Cyberpunk Edgerunners spinoff game to look forward to as well, which is also set to be not in yet another first-person perspective, but this time a 2.5D brawler game taking place in the world of Cyberpunk 2077.
