Pokémon Pokopia’s second expansion has received a new trailer, showing off some of the new Pokémon coming to the game.
The new trailer, which debuted during Wednesday’s Nintendo Direct, showed off Skitty, Doduo, and Braixen. Since every Pokémon that’s included in Pokémon Pokopia also includes the rest of its evolution line, Dodrio, Delcatty, Fennekin, and Delphox will also be part of the DLC.
The second piece of DLC will seemingly focus on new costumes and accessories added to existing Pokémon in the base game. No new areas will be added as part of the second expansion. The game’s first expansion, Bubbly Basin, added a new area and around 50 new Pokémon.
Last month, Nintendo and The Pokémon Company confirmed that their Koei Tecmo-partnered Switch 2 exclusive, Pokopia, has sold more than 5 million copies since its release in March.
The 5 million sales mean that Pokopia is already one of the best-selling Pokémon series spin-offs ever, but it also represents a huge success for developer Koei Tecmo, which has likely seen few hits of this size in its history.
Pokopia was mainly developed by Koei Tecmo’s Omega Force team, led by the directors behind the sandbox game Dragon Quest Builders 2.
Notably, Pokémon Pokopia was released as a Game Key Card, which is essentially a digital download code on a physical game card.
VGC’s Pokémon Pokopia review calls it “Pokémon’s best spin-off”, noting that the need to grind late in the game “can’t dull the shine” of the overall experience.
