If you're into racing games, one that should be on your radar is Clutch, a brand new IP from a studio with former Forza Horizon developers in its ranks.
Officially announced earlier this year, developer Maverick Games was at one point partnered up with Amazon, who would serve as the game's publisher, but that fell through.
Now, it's been announced that Clutch has found a new publisher, namely Focus Entertainment.
"At Focus, we look to partner with creators who are redefining their genre," says Vincent Chataignier, deputy CEO at Focus. "Mike Brown and his team are regarded as one of the defining creative voices in the racing genre, and CLUTCH embodies exactly the creative ambition Focus Entertainment wants to champion."
"We founded Maverick Games to build the open-world racing experience we'd dreamed about for years," says founder and CEO of Maverick Games, Mike Brown. "Focus shares our creative bar and our ambition for CLUTCH, and we can't wait for players everywhere to discover this world."
The game has you playing as a brother and sister pair that are at the height of competitive motorsports, but are simultaneously tempted by the dangerous underground racing scene.
It's set in an open world based on the French Riviera, and features licensed vehicles, some of which will be equipped with outlandish gadgets such as grapple hooks. That latter point has been a little divisive among racing fans.
Anyway, Clutch now has the backing of a major publisher, which will hopefully help it reach the finish line in fine form.
