Adidas just dropped its limited-edition Pokémon collection, the latest in a pretty wild list of collaborations celebrating the franchise’s 30th anniversary.
The full collection includes over 10 new designs for a mix of the company’s most popular sneaker styles, including the Samba and Superstar II. Each shoe has an entirely distinct look inspired by a specific Pokémon, and the stars of the show aren’t too surprising.
Prices range from $60 to $180 with full family sizing. Even better? Every sneaker is available to buy right now.
Some features, like the gold embroidered Pokémon x Adidas logo, appear across the collection, but each shoe generally stands on its own two feet (get it) as a unique release. Here’s the full list of what’s available in specific styles:
As you can tell, the collection includes a mix of full evolution lines (i.e. Charmander to Charizard) as well as some particularly iconic individual Pokémon like Pikachu and Mewtwo.
I got the chance to check out three specific shoes from the collection of time, and let’s just say I’m impressed. I don’t typically go for the most colorful looks in the world, but the designs have a range of boldness that lets you pick a vibe that goes best with your style. And, of course, based on whichever Pokémon you like best.
The Mewtwo Superstars are a soft purple with a sleek iridescent sheen. While every shoe includes a token-esque shoelace charm with its featured Pokémon’s face, this pair also comes with a funky “liquid” tag featuring the legendary’s classic Psystrike move. On the bolder side, the Charmander sneakers show a full graphic of the Pokémon blowing some literal Ember into the iconic Samba stripes.
It’s cool to see each shoe get its own little deep cut reference to a Pokémon’s type and even specific moveset. The (new!) illustrations of each Pokemon are all high quality, and the shoes themselves are, as you’d expect, pretty darn comfy.
