Dying Light: The Beast is celebrating its first anniversary, marking one year since players first entered the game's Castor Woods setting. Techland is using the occasion to bring players back with new activities, rewards, and discounts, but the anniversary is also giving the game something it did not have at launch. For the first time, players will also be able to own Dying Light: The Beast as a physical release (with a disc) on PS5.
The physical version is being released through a partnership between Techland and Super Rare Games, with three different editions planned for PlayStation 5. All three versions will include the Definitive Edition of Dying Light: The Beast, which contains all of the game's post-launch updates. The release gives collectors multiple ways to own a physical copy, ranging from a standard retail version to a much more limited anniversary package.
The Standard Edition, Super Rare Games Edition, and Anniversary Edition of Dying Light: The Beast will all be available to preorder from Super Rare Games beginning...right now. The Standard Edition includes the PS5 game and a game manual, with an unlimited preorder quantity. The Super Rare Games Edition adds an SRG sticker, an exclusive metallic slipcover, and a numbered SRG release, while its preorder quantity will be limited. The Anniversary Edition is also limited and includes the game alongside a collection of physical items inspired by Castor Woods.

The physical release is only part of the first-anniversary celebration for Dying Light: The Beast. Techland is launching Call of the Beast: Anniversary Edition, a three-week event built around global community goals and weekend boons that players can vote for. Completing each weekly goal will unlock anniversary rewards, including a unique outfit and a weapon inspired by Castor Woods. The celebration begins with a Double XP Event from September 18 through September 21, giving players an additional reason to return to the game.
Daily Crane's Anniversary Drops will also give Dying Light: The Beast players a new surprise simply for logging in. The rewards include a mix of in-game items and digital anniversary goodies, while every Friday will offer an exclusive weapon for use during Call of the Beast. Techland is also making the Discharge Weapon Pack for Dying Light: The Beast completely free to claim on Steam, PlayStation Store, and Xbox from September 17 through September 24.
For players who have not picked up Dying Light: The Beast yet, the anniversary also brings its lowest discount so far, with the game available for 50% off on all platforms through September 26. The full Dying Light Franchise Bundle (including Dying Light, Dying Light 2: Stay Human, and Dying Light: The Beast) is also up to 70% off through September 26. Meanwhile, the limited Super Rare Games and Anniversary Editions of Dying Light: The Beast will remain available for preorder through October 16, with final quantities announced after the ordering window closes.
