True Damage returns to the League of Legends Worlds stage this year, and honestly, I'm really excited about what they've got to show.
In many ways, League of Legends Worlds 2026 is literally a journey through the MOBA's greatest hits. Riot promised us a music-themed end to the year, and we've already seen the return of Heartsteel and a registration filed for a new K/DA track. While I was silently hopeful that we'd maybe get another Pentakill Worlds moment, True Damage will take to the stage this year to kick off the finals and, while that may disappoint some, I'm just happy to see Riot's hip hop titans get another run.
Akali, Ekko, Qiyana, Senna, and Yasuo return with brand-new song 'Know My Name,' reuniting to celebrate "the ambition, individuality, and competitive drive" that's at the heart of Worlds. We haven't heard the track just yet, but Riot promises more hip hop goodness, elevated by the individual members' newfound identities.
There one familiar face here: K-pop icon SOYEON (of i-dle) returns to voice Akali, League of Legends' kunai-slinging mid lane assassin. Then, Coco Jones makes her debut as Senna, Vic Mensa now voices Ekko, and Sofia Reyes will perform as Qiyana. Yasuo is his silent self, happily DJing away, and as someone who will always play his True Damage skin if given the chance, I can't wait to see his new look.
2026's League of Legends Worlds anthem and its associated music video are set to release on Thursday October 8 at 6am PST / 9am EST / 2pm BST / 3pm CEST. The group will then perform it live during the Worlds opening ceremony on Saturday, November 14.
There's no mention of new skins at the moment, but given that Heartsteel has their brand new looks, I suspect some new True Damage cosmetics are on the horizon. As a Senna main, I can already tell you that my wallet will be hurting - especially if there's anything in the same vein as her original Prestige skin. What can I say, sometimes I want to be bougie.
It took me a little while to warm to True Damage (hip hop isn't really my thing), but I maintain that Worlds 2019 is easily one of my favorite opening ceremonies to date. The visuals were absolutely stunning (the Ekko sequence during Giants never ceases to amaze me), and while I wasn't really hooked on the song before the event, I certainly was when it was over.
While some fans may be a little disappointed at the lack of K/DA - especially after that new track was registered - I'm honestly excited for True Damage's return. I feel like they're Riot Music's 'dark horse' in a way; they've only had the one song as opposed to Pentakill and K/DA's myriad albums, and I want to see what this evolution sounds like.
