The Pokémon Company has announced that Disney+ will be the exclusive streaming home of the forthcoming Aardman animation, The Misadventures of Sirfetch’d & Pichu.
The news was announced during PokémonXP, a Pokémon fan convention taking place concurrently with the 2026 Pokémon World Championships. During the panel, Aardman and The Pokémon Company also debuted the latest trailer for the series, which you can watch below.
The Misadventures of Sirfetch’d & Pichu follows both Pokémon as they explore the Galar region. The Galar region is the setting of Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield video games. Sirfetch’d, the evolved form of Farfetch’d, debuted in Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield.
“These stories, full of adventure and heroism, all told from the perspective of Pokémon, are made even more exciting through the lens of the incredible filmmakers at Aardman,” said Phil Rynda, director of Original Animation, The Pokémon Company International.
“Audiences will be delighted getting to know the Sirfetch’d & Pichu, and wonderful cast of Pokémon, featured in this series. Aardman has brought Galar to life in a way that makes you feel like you can smell the air, touch the tree bark, and want to adventure alongside our series heroes.”
Aardman also shared new images from the show, and confirmed new Pokémon like Impidimp, Appletun and more.
Aardman is best known for its stop-motion animation projects featuring characters such as Wallace & Gromit, Shaun the Sheep, Timmy Time, and Morph.
Pokémon Tales: The Misadventures of Sirfetch’d & Pichu is described as “an epic journey through the wilds of Galar”.
