Nintendo has confirmed that two amiibo based on Kirby Air Riders will be released on November 12. Kirby Air Riders was released on Switch 2 in late 2025, and the game has seen significant amiibo support ever since. Multiple characters have been offered, alongside different vehicles from the game. These vehicles can be swapped between figures, offering multiple display options for collectors.
More than a decade after the first wave of amiibo were released, Nintendo continues to offer new designs based on its most popular games. Recently, Nintendo has announced several new figures, including amiibo based on Zelda: Ocarina of Time and Metroid Ravenous. The vast majority of amiibo are related to Nintendo's first-party games, but third-party options like Mega Man: Dual Override also have compatible figures on the way.
During the latest Nintendo Direct, November 12 was revealed as the release date for the Sword Kirby & Dragoon amiibo, as well as the Noir Dedede & Hydra amiibo. These Kirby Air Riders figures were previously announced, but it has now been confirmed that these will be the final options based on the game. That brings the final total to seven figures in total, following the previous figures of Kirby, Bandana Waddle Dee, Meta Knight, Chef Kawaski, and King Dedede. The Kirby Air Riders amiibo are pretty expensive, and the new ones are no exception: both will cost $54.99.
Unfortunately, the end of the Kirby Air Riders amiibo line means that several playable characters from the game won't be getting figures. That means fans hoping to see amiibo of favorites like Rick, Gooey, and Knuckle Joe are out of luck. Nintendo seems to have stuck to making the most popular characters in the Kirby franchise; at this point, multiple amiibo figures of Kirby, Waddle Dee, King Dedede, and Meta Knight have been offered across different lines. For that reason, some of the deeper cuts would have been nice to see. Unfortunately, the high cost of the Kirby Air Riders amiibo might have forced Nintendo to keep the line smaller.

While Kirby Air Riders won't be getting more amiibo in the future, it's possible Nintendo could offer figures based on the next game in the series. Kirby and the World Beyond is coming in 2027, and seems to feature a vast open world for players to explore. Next year happens to be the 35th anniversary of the franchise, and Nintendo has already confirmed plans to celebrate the occasion. A special logo for the Kirby anniversary has been shown, so it wouldn't be surprising to see some themed merchandise to commemorate the occasion.
Kirby Air Riders was directed by Masahiro Sakurai, best known for his work on the Super Smash Bros. series. Fans have been eagerly waiting to see what Sakurai does next, and a Super Smash Bros. game has been rumored for Switch 2. It's a safe bet that the series will see some kind of release on the system, either through a whole new game, or a Switch 2 Edition of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. Nintendo and Sakurai have kept quiet about their plans though, and fans will have to keep waiting to see what comes next for the fighting game franchise.
