The manga was a hit for Weekly Shonen Jump since its very debut; however, what propelled it to global fame was its sensational anime adaptation by Studio MAPPA. MAPPA first brought the series to life in 2020, and the rest is history. Most recently, Jujutsu Kaisen made a comeback in January 2026 with its third anime season, covering the events of the Culling Game. The season was short-lived, spanning only 12 Episodes. Now, we are already all pumped up for Jujutsu Kaisen Season 4, which was announced immediately after the final episode of Season 3.

Manga-wise, Gege Akutami's Weekly Shonen Jump series has amassed over 150 million sales with only 30 volumes in circulation, making it one of the best-selling series of all time. Its anime is also globally known, and the likes of Satoru Gojo have become globally recognizable characters. Because of that, fans are always eager to tune in to any new event concerning future releases for Jujutsu Kaisen.
Luckily for fans, a big event for the franchise has been confirmed, known as Juju Fest 2026. Juju Fest is an event specifically dedicated to Gege Akutami's series. Here, we will undoubtedly see new information surface pertaining to various upcoming projects. This event is taking place in Japan, at K-Arena Yokohama, in Yokohama. Juju Fest 2026 will unfold over two days, starting August 29, 2026, and ending a day later, on August 30, 2026. This event is now fast approaching, and it's one that fans should definitely tune in for, as a big reveal is likely on the way concerning Jujutsu Kaisen Season 4 and future projects by Gege Akutami.
With Juju Fest 2026 fast approaching, we are certain of one thing: a big update for the upcoming installment of the series, Jujutsu Kaisen Season 4. In part, many fans believe this to be the case because the event has been greatly hyped by official Jujutsu Kaisen accounts, hinting at something big to come. At the very least, we expect to finally get a release date for the fourth installment of the Jujutsu Kaisen anime. While we already know it's coming in 2027, it's finally time for MAPPA Studio to tell us which month it is headed our way. The Studio is likely to reveal the release month, or they could even give us the full release date. We anticipate JJK Season 4 to come sometime around early 2027, either in January or April.
While a Season 4 release date is great, fans expect more than just that. For one, the last Jujutsu Kaisen Season 4 teaser we received was somewhat underwhelming, with not much animated content to show. Hopefully, during Juju Fest 2026, we will get a full-fledged trailer revealing exciting action and animation delivered by MAPPA after a couple more months of work. Along with this teaser, a new Key Visual could also be unveiled to us.
The Jujutsu Kaisen anime is undoubtedly going to be the focus of the event; however, we shouldn't ignore the possibility of new manga projects being revealed. Gege Akutami's last project was Jujutsu Kaisen: Modulo, and it was a massive success for the Weekly Shonen Jump magazine, so much so that MAPPA even went ahead and animated a small teaser for it.
Gege's editor has hinted at him possibly making another comeback, and reports seem to back this up. Hopefully, the Juju Fest will reveal Gege’s future plans, especially right now, as Weekly Shonen Jump is experiencing its biggest low in years, falling under one million sales for the first time in decades. Gege Akutami's presence is more than needed.
