Several video game franchises are celebrating their anniversaries this year, with Diablo not least among them, and the celebration of its 30th anniversary is taking a new shape this fall. The Blizzard IP has certainly had its highs and lows, but Diablo is a beloved video game series for a reason. So, it'll be interesting to see how this anniversary release is received (alongside anything announced at BlizzCon).
The Legend of Zelda celebrates its 40th anniversary this year, while Pokemon is also celebrating its 30th anniversary. That's how time works, with more and more IPs crossing these major milestones, and the celebration thereof is always different. For Diablo, it fittingly involves the setting of Sanctuary.
Blizzard, Six Flags, and Plague Productions (Conjuring: Beyond Fear) have confirmed that a brand-new action, Diablo: The Infernal Path, is coming to Cedar Point and Kings Dominion in celebration of the 30th anniversary. It will open at the two Six Flags parks during the 2026 Halloween season. Guests at Cedar Point's HalloWeekends in Ohio and Kings Dominion's Halloween Haunt in Virginia will be able to enter the attraction as part of the parks' Halloween offerings. It is being presented as the first official Diablo haunted house and maze, with Plague Productions releasing a new official description for the attraction:
"The gates to the underworld are opening at Cedar Point and Kings Dominion this Halloween season. Diablo: The Infernal Path, an all-new haunted maze inspired by the blockbuster video game franchise, will bring the world of Sanctuary to life with fiery environments, demonic corruption and some of Diablo’s most infamous villains. Guests will come face-to-face with The Butcher, Duriel, Baal, Mephisto, Lilith and Diablo himself as they attempt to survive a realm overrun by evil. The experience was designed exclusively for Cedar Point and Kings Dominion. Are you brave enough to walk The Infernal Path?"

The premise puts visitors directly inside Diablo's Sanctuary after a ritual causes the barrier between worlds to break apart. From there, the attraction sends guests through corrupted landscapes and demonic environments designed around the atmosphere of all the beloved Diablo games. Naturally, Diablo's most recognizable evils will be waiting inside.
The Infernal Path will feature encounters with The Butcher, Duriel, Baal, Mephisto, Lilith, and Diablo himself, along with additional horrors inspired by the series. Rather than simply decorating a traditional haunted house with Diablo imagery, the attraction is intended to recreate parts of Sanctuary through close-quarters encounters and environments modeled after the games.
