Finally, we have a firm release date for Path of Exile 2. On December 11, 2026, Path of Exile 2 will leave early access, getting its full version 1.0 release.
This was just revealed at Gamescom Opening Night Live. The release date means that Path of Exile 2 will have had two years of early access by the time the full game launches.
This release date was confirmed alongside a new trailer at Gamescom Opening Night Live. It gives us a taste of what's in store for fans in the final release, after two years of playing through earlier builds.
Path of Exile 2 launched in early access on December 6, 2024. Unlike some early access games, it was available on both PC and console, so PS5 and Xbox Series X/S players have already been able to jump in. Anyone who bought the game during early access will have access to the full game at no extra cost as of December 11.
We already knew the full release was coming in 2026, but without a firm release date for so long, there was always the looming threat of a delay. We've seen that with many other 2026 releases, particularly as GTA 6 is slated for November 19. Many games are running scared, but it makes sense that Path of Exile 2 is (just about) clinging onto the 2026 date. It's already got a dedicated playerbase thanks to early access, so it's unlikely it will be drowned out by Rockstar.
Path of Exile 2 takes place in the land of Wraeclast, a dark continent populated by unique cultures, ancient secrets, and monstrous dangers. A sinister threat, long thought destroyed, has begun creeping back on the edge of civilisation, driving people mad and sickening the land with Corruption.
Path of Exile 2 features a brand new campaign with six acts, 100 distinct environments, 600 monsters and 100 bosses.
