If you've seen the trailer for The Witcher 4, then you know that Ciri is the new Witcher, taking over from Geralt (who gets one last hoorah with The Witcher 3: Songs of the Past in 2027). However, if you want to obtain the canon ending to The Witcher 3 by making Ciri a Witcher, then you're going to need to know how to unlock the best ending in The Witcher 3. Below, you'll find every quest and important decision you need to make to get the best ending possible (the happy ending!)
When Ciri asks Geralt how he manages to focus, no matter what's happening, Geralt must respond with: "Think I know what might lift your spirits." This will begin a snowball fight, and it doesn't matter if you win or lose against Ciri in the snowball fight, as all that matters is you helped her to have fun in a time of sorrow.
When Ciri wakes Geralt up the next morning, make sure Geralt responds: "All right, Velen it is." This will ensure Ciri does not visit the emperor, and ensures Ciri will reject the title of empress, and allow her to become a Witcher. If you do decide to go to the emperor, make sure to refuse the payment.
Ciri is concerned, as Philippa and Margarita want to speak to her privately. Geralt must say to Ciri: "You'll do fine on your own". This will give Ciri the confidence to deal with this herself and not rely on Geralt, which is a positive action for her good ending.
When you're inside Avallach's Lab, a revelation will make Ciri emotional, and she expresses how she'd really like to tear this place apart. Geralt must respond: "Go for it.", which shows him encouraging her to start trashing the place, which is another positive action.
Yennefer tells Ciri that her friend, Skjall, is dead due to the Wild Hunt. Ciri asks Geralt to visit his grave with her, and Geralt must respond with: "Yeah. I'll go with you," which allows Ciri and Geralt to explore the graveyard together and express grief as father and daughter.
Selecting all of the explained dialogue responses shown above will guarantee that Ciri becomes a Witcher in the final mission, "Something Ends, Something Begins", which perfectly sets her up for The Witcher 4!
