Activision says it tracked a Call of Duty cheat maker to an Ohio residence and delivered a cease-and-desist notice to his front door as part of a real-life RICOCHET takedown.
RICOCHET Anti-Cheat typically targets Call of Duty cheaters through account bans, software detections and other in-game countermeasures. However, Activision has increasingly pursued the developers and sellers responsible for creating those cheats.
In March 2025, Team RICOCHET claimed that its efforts had put more than 20 cheat makers and dozens of resellers out of business since Black Ops 6 launched. Its latest target was Elocarry, a service that advertised cheats for Call of Duty and numerous other multiplayer games.
Posting on X on August 28, the official Call of Duty account shared footage of an unnamed representative arriving at an Ohio home and personally delivering the legal warning.
“RICOCHET Anti-Cheat doesn’t end when your match does,” Activision wrote. “Cheat makers operate around the world. So do we.”

The video is presented as an excerpt from a genuine recording made while notifying a cheat provider of impending legal action. Timestamped at 9:50 AM on August 22, it shows the representative driving to the residence before approaching its front door.
After a man with a blurred face answers, the representative explains that the documents are from “attorneys for Activision.”
