Reality Fracture is shaping up to be one of the most important Magic: The Gathering sets in recent years, and we're loving how the story has unfolded so far. With how the Echoverse is set up, Hexhaven has become an unexpectedly big part of the proceedings, so we're going to take a closer look at the five colleges within it and rank them.
These rankings are mostly for fun, but also take into account the quality of its namesake Sphinx and how decks built around the primary mechanics and strategies will play.
Fatehold is coming in last place largely because it's the least interesting, mechanically speaking, compared to the other Hexhaven colleges. As the school of future history, Fatehold is all about using Scry and Surveil to manipulate the top of your deck and dump cards into your graveyard.

True to the goal of Hexhaven, Fatehold takes what you would usually expect from white and blue decks, and flips it on its head somewhat. Rather than drawing cards, you're taking a look at what you could draw, and making adjustments if you don't like what you see. It's also a mirror of Lorehold, which focuses on putting spells into your graveyard only to cast them again.
Where Silverquill is all about the use of words to manipulate your opponents, which, in turn, means mechanics like Goad play a big role, Stingerquill is instead about delivering pain directly to the face of your opponents. Rather than trying to get everyone to hurt each other, or keep their attention away from you, you're instead the instigator and at the heart of every battle.
Stingerquill feels like it's the closest to a typical Ravnican guild given that Rakdos is similarly focused on aggression and damage dealing, although the sacrificial aspects don't appear to have crossed over.
While "Invasive Healing" is a terrifying combination of words, what we can tell so far from Vigorbloom is that it will rely heavily on Lifelink, as expected, but the invasive aspect may have something to do with Ward, which can be seen on Kiwa Vigorbloom, the college's Sphinx.
