It's official: Magic: The Gathering's most disastrous Secret Lair drop, The Zeta Set, is getting a new 24-hour print-to-demand window, allowing players to order the product in limited quantities. The catch? That window isn't for another two months.
Many players were unhappy with how The Zeta Set launch went down, since issues on Wizards' side paused the queue around 30 minutes into the sale, and by the time things moved again, stock lasted only a few minutes. Players who stuck out the 80+ minute wait reported being booted from the queue or being given longer wait times when the queue started moving again.
On top of that, some of those who placed orders were left in the lurch without order confirmation. This led Wizards to call the event a "disaster," and rightly so. Now it's laid out what it plans to do about it in more detail.
The biggest headline from the article posted by Wizards of the Coast is that, on December 9, 2026, a 24-hour print-to-demand window will go live on the Secret Lair website for The Zeta Set. Players will be able to order a limited number of packs, although that number has not yet been specified.
During the original sale, purchases of The Zeta Set were limited to 12 packs.
Any products ordered during this new window are expected to ship in the second half of 2027, but no specific month has been given. This info is expected to be in place by the time the sale takes place, as with the recent Odds & Ends and Hatsune Miku Commander decks.
If you are one of the players lucky enough to have confirmation that your order of The Zeta Set went through successfully, payment will be taken soon, and shipping is expected to begin on November 5 for North America and December 8 for the UK and Europe. However, this date isn't locked in and could change, but they promise clear communication if it does.
Most Secret Lair products ship immediately, so this delay of almost four months for some players shows how the incident caught Wizards of the Coast off guard.
