The first-ever official LEGO set for Yu-Gi-Oh! has been revealed, featuring the iconic Exodia. LEGO has had collaborations with many big brands across the gaming sphere, with perhaps the biggest ones being crossovers with Super Mario, The Legend of Zelda, and Pokemon. With even more LEGO collaborations and unique sets coming for the remainder of 2026 and others leaked for 2027, fans can expect a mix of LEGO Star Wars, Architecture, Botanicals, and more to be revealed in the coming weeks.
For example, more LEGO Pokemon 2027 sets were teased recently, and leaks point to even more to come, possibly dropping or being revealed in full on Pokemon Day, which is going to take place on February 27, 2027. This year, LEGO also held a Pokemon TCG competition for the LEGO Ideas brand, with the winning build becoming an official set. As such, it doesn't come as a surprise that a set dedicated to Yu-Gi-Oh! would eventually be revealed, considering its status as one of the most played and popular trading card games on the market.
LEGO Ideas announced the winner of a competition to choose the first-ever Yu-Gi-Oh! set, with the winner being Step_on_a_Brick's "The Heart of the Cards — Exodia" build. The set features the iconic Exodia from Yu-Gi-Oh!, which is a monster created by placing its five separate pieces on the field; doing so makes the user automatically win the game. This has been achieved in the official anime, and Exodia remains one of the most popular creatures in the TCG's universe. The winning set created by Step_on_a_Brick also features three Yu-Gi-Oh! cards completing Exodia's design (specifically, its right foot, left leg, and torso), as well as a figurine of Yugi Muto, the protagonist of the official anime's first generation.
The official "Yu-Gi-Oh! It’s Time to Duel!" LEGO Ideas competition came to a close just a few days ago, with Step_on_a_Brick's Exodia build winning over Slifer the Sky Dragon, two builds featuring a duel between Dark Magician and Blue-Eyes White Dragon, and a Blue-Eyes White Dragon display. Exodia remains one of the most popular monsters in the series, and its cards are some of the best cards in Yugi's deck in the Yu-Gi-Oh! anime. It's worth noting that LEGO stated that this build is not what the final set will look like, but rather, it will be based on it. This is standard procedure for LEGO Ideas competitions, and the results are typically very close to what was envisioned by the original creator.
LEGO Ideas' Yu-Gi-Oh! contest was leaked earlier this year before the event was officially announced, though the ruleset wasn't. Fans could only use specific characters and cards from the series, and public votes were allowed to be cast until the end of April 2026.
It's unclear when the final version of the set will be unveiled or when its release date will be. Still, fans can rest assured that Exodia's imposing figure will be at the very core of the set. While the protagonist will also be part of the set, be it in upscaled or minifigure format, Yugi's best friends in Yu-Gi-Oh! won't, though they may appear in future original sets.
