The galaxy of Star Wars Zero Company is quite deadly for those who aren't named Obi-Wan Kenobi or Anakin Skywalker. From endless droids to all types of scoundrels looking to make you past tense, it's easy to wind up dead during your journey. One of the most important ways to improve your chances is by building your bonds among the different operators you end up working with.
This will give them access to improved stats for combat along with additional Focus Points to increase their class-specific talents. If you're looking to improve your team's bonds, here's everything you need to know about this mechanic and how to use it.
At its core, bonds are the relationships you and your operators have with one another. This can be both negative and positive depending on how your playthrough goes, with each character having a sliding scale in a relationship from 1 (lowest) to 8 (highest). The higher on the scale someone's relationship is, the more rewards and Cross Training benefits you will unlock.
Speaking of, Cross Training is the main reward for increasing the bonds between two characters. Once a relationship increases a level, those characters will be able to train together. This gives you three different options to pick from that will provide a passive benefit to both operators, such as increased grenade damage, better critical hit chance, and overall health increases. You will also gain Focus Points for those operators, with the highest bond levels giving you a fairly substantial amount.
When it comes to raising the bonds of your operators, you have multiple ways to improve their standing with one another. Each bond level requires a specific amount of experience to advance, which can be viewed in the Personal section under the "Bonds" sub-tab.
Before we go into the best methods, here's a quick rundown of every way the bonds of operators can be raised:
Of these options, your main way to improve your bonds will be either through Operations or Missions. The former are non-combat-driven choices where you are presented with around three options for how to approach a specific scenario. This can be anything from raiding a specific room in a derelict spaceship to deciding how to use crucial intel you receive.
Many of the Operations have a specific number of operators required to complete them. For example, in the photo above, it shows that we need 25 Intel and 3 operators for the Trick's Tricks Operation. Once we select "Execute," we can then pick from our list of operators, who will all bond with one another.
