Insomniac has pushed live another PS5 patch to Marvel's Wolverine that further addresses the complaints surrounding the scent trail that guides you to objectives and collectibles at certain points.
Having downloaded PS5 patch 1.001.006, there will be a new toggle in the settings that lets you turn off all of the scent trails and indicators that lead you to collectibles.
This means that the purple roots won't appear in the ground when you're near to a Nightmare Door, the audio alerts tied to Material Crates won't sound, and the scent trail leading you to Whisky Bottles will not appear anymore. I assume the game defaults to having these indicators appear still, but you'll be able to go into the pause menu and turn them off now. Any scent trails tied to the story will still be there.
The last Wolverine update toned down the intensity of the scent trail in general, with its thick blue smoke guiding you to things. Now, that trail can be removed completely for collectibles.
