One thing that becomes a problem quickly in How to Fish is the limited inventory space. With only three slots, it’s easy to run out of space when carrying fish, clams, weapons, and other useful items. This can be annoying when you are exploring and find something worth keeping but have nowhere to put it. Thankfully, there is a way to increase your inventory size, although you won’t have access to it at the start of the game. Here’s how to get more inventory slots in this co-op fishing game.
The inventory upgrade is not available in the starting area, Lighthouse. It only becomes available once you reach the second island, so you will have to make do with those three slots for a little while. To unlock it, go to the second island, which requires getting access to the boat first.
The boat’s keys are given to you by the Lighthouse Keeper after completing the Who Stole My Beer quest and defeating the Spider Crab, the first boss in How to Fish. Once you have the keys, you can use the boat to travel across the water and reach the second island.
Once you reach the second island, you’ll need to go to the shop. Like in Lighthouse, you will find a shopkeeper there with a few things to buy, including an extra inventory slot. The first upgrade costs only $5.
You can’t keep buying inventory upgrades at the same shop. The second island only has one extra slot available. To get another one, you’ll need to make your way to the third island and visit the shop there. The next inventory slot costs $10.
