If you're like me, you fell hard for Vampire Survivors when it finally came to PS5. Well, another game in the burgeoning bullet heaven genre is coming soon to Sony's console, and apparently it's a corker.
The game in question is Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor, a spin-off from the popular co-op mining game. Here's the console announcement trailer to give you a taste:
It arrives on PS5 on 7th October 2026, just over a year after the title launched its 1.0 version on PC following a stint in Early Access.
During its time on PC, Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor has garnered a lot of love from both players and critics; over 24,000 Steam user reviews label it Very Positive, while it has an impressive 86 Metascore.
The game takes many cues from Vampire Survivors; you attack automatically, you must fend off hordes of monsters, and you rapidly increase your firepower over the course of a single run.
However, it seems the game brings plenty of its own ideas to the table, all coming from the original Deep Rock Galactic.
Mining is a big part of it, for example. You need to mine for resources as you play, which can then be spent on upgrades between floors. Some materials are necessary to unlock permanent upgrades between runs as well.
Survivor also gives you optional objectives in each area, offering up a large payout if you manage to accomplish them.
