There are so many ways to show off in CS2, with great aim arguably being at the top of the list. Those with style can strut in a different way, with skins for their guns adding a much-needed pop to the often drab arenas. There is now another way, and that is owning a chicken. Yep, you read that right - a chicken.
Obtaining a pet in CS2 isn't quite as straightforward as buying it from the marketplace - you have to get hold of an egg, hatch it, then make sure it's fed. At the end of the day, if you do everything right, you'll have your own feathered companion for all those games you go on to dominate.
To answer the age-old question - the egg comes before the chicken, at least in Counter-Strike 2. If you want a chicken pet, you'll have to acquire an egg from the weekly drops. Note that the egg requires both of your drops, so you won't be able to pick any other rewards that week.
The egg you get from your drop will hatch automatically in around a week. When your egg hatches, you have a chick! All chicks appear to be the same, and your variant won't become apparent unless you care for and feed your chick using the food from the weekly drops. Your chick won't grow unless you feed it, so make sure you take the time to do so.
