Welcome back to the weekend, gamers! It's been one hell of a week, let me tell ya', so why don't you kick back with your current videogame conquest and have a proper good sesh?!
This week Fraser and I have been recovering from a recent trip to Xbox FanFest in London, and all the big news surrounding the release of Gears of War: E-Day. Of course, it's worth remembering to check out the Free Play Days games this week too.
So, let's get right into it, here's what we're playing on Xbox this weekend:
Well, it shouldn’t surprise anyone that the majority of my gaming this weekend will be spent playing Gears of War: E-Day. Seriously, what a bloody game.
I’m so glad the game is finally out in the open. I’m so pumped at the prospect of going toe-to-toe with some of you in Versus, probably for the first proper time. Horde Siege is its own beast too, and I’m stoked to finally get cracking with some actual progression!
Yep. Lots of Gears, but I also plan on giving End of Abyss a proper look-see over the weekend. It’s been on my radar for quite some time, and now that I’m out of the review rush for Gears, I can finally give it my attention.
As much as I do really want to play Gears of War: E-Day this weekend (and I'll probably spend at least some time with it), I'm also trying to blast away on Star Wars: Galactic Racer ahead of next week's launch to hopefully provide a review for release day. Long story short, I think it's absolutely awesome and a dream for Star Wars Racer fans!
Most of my time with Gears will probably be spent on the ROG Xbox Ally X, as I'd really like to get a proper feel for how it runs on the device. The minimal testing I've done suggests it runs best on "Low" settings while retaining a relatively smooth frame rate, but I feel like there's more I can do to get the most out of it on the Xbox handheld.
